This Popular Nail Polish Brand Just Created a Hand Sanitizer With a Good Cause
If you haven’t been able to find hand sanitizer anywhere, Orly just created one in effort to supply both shoppers and the Los Angeles homeless community with it during the coronavirus outbreak.
The nail polish company is one of the latest beauty brands to shift its production gears in order to support COVID-19 efforts. The first 10,000 units of its hand sanitizer spray will be donated to Los Angeles, with distribution being prioritized to the city’s at-risk homeless population. Batches have also been added to orlybeauty.com, where shoppers can purchase a four-pack for $24. (Customers are limited to three packs. With every pack purchased, one will be donated.)
The sanitizer is fragrance-free and only contains four ingredients, including 75 percent isopropyl alcohol, which exceeds the CDC’s 60 percent recommendation for effectiveness. Orly also makes an alcohol-based cleanser — Spritz Dry — which can be used to disinfect surfaces and beauty tools (it also dries nail polish “instantly”).
