Pregnant Ashanti Shows Off Her 'Sweet Baby' on the Way with Nelly in Curve-Hugging Dress

Ashanti is showing off her budding baby bump!

On Monday, April 22, the singer shared an Instagram video with her bump on display in a form-fitting dress. The royal blue ruched fit that hugged all her curves was seemingly the dress she wore at the POSSIBLE marketing conference in Miami on Wednesday, April 17. She announced that same day she is expecting her first child with her now fiancé, Nelly.

The 43-year-old’s video includes a clip of the Grammy winner showing off her chic maternity look, accompanied by her own song “Sweet Baby.”

She also captioned the post by referencing her hit song: “My sweet baby 🙏🏽 Well….. (Our) Sweet baby 🤣🤣😘 @nelly.”

Several fans flocked to the comments to celebrate her and Nelly’s news. “Awww Shan 🥹🥹🥹 You deserve all of this and so much more. So so happy for you and Nelly 🤗🤗🤗,” wrote one user. Another added: “Body still going crazy!! The world is elated for you guys. Nothing like seeing pure joy! 🔥😍.”

“She in her deserving ERA. I just love Ashanti. Congratulations Ma ❤️🥰,” commented another user.

The couple announced on April that they are both engaged and expecting.

"This new year of my life is such a blessing full of love, hope and anticipation," Ashanti shared with Essence. "Motherhood is something that I have looked forward to, and sharing this with my family, fiancé and loyal fans, who have been so supportive of my career, is an amazing experience."

The couple first sparked pregnancy rumors at the 11th Black and White Ball in December. During a moment when both were on stage, Ashanti rested her hands on her stomach, and as the rapper noticed, he did the same. The duo quickly made eye contact and broke out into laughter — which led fans to speculate there may be baby news to share.

Three months prior, Nelly, 49, confirmed during an appearance on the Boss Moves with Rasheeda show that the couple had rekindled their romance and were back together.

"It wasn't anything that we planned. We both were pretty much doing what we do,” he explained. “But sometimes, being separate, you understand one another more. You could be like, 'Well yo, let me exactly see maybe what they see.' We all can be defensive sometimes in our own relationships. We know we wrong but we going to stand on it, you know what I mean? But we all a victim to that."

This will be Ashanti’s first child. Nelly is already dad to son Cornell III “Tre”, 25, and daughter Chanelle “Nana,” 30. He also helped raise niece Sydney and nephew Shawn after his sister, Jackie Donahue died of leukemia at 31 in March 2005.
