‘Quiet On Set’ Bests ‘The Last Of Us’ To Become Max’s Most Successful Title Ever On Nielsen Streaming Charts

Road House and Quiet on Set brought some variety to the Nielsen streaming charts in March.

During the week of March 18 to 24, there were four different streamers represented among the Top 5 streaming titles — Netflix, Prime Video, Max and Disney+. According to Nielsen, this is a rarity that has only occurred once before, when the same four platforms shared the stage in October 2022.

In the top spot was Netflix’s 3 Body Problem, which debuted all eight episodes on March 21. In its first four days on the streamer, it amassed 1.37B minutes viewed.

Second place went to Prime Video’s Road House, the reimagining of the 1980s Patrick Swayze film, which was right behind 3 Body Problem with an impressive 1.32B minutes viewed. This is particularly noteworthy because it is far shorter than 3 Body and therefore at a significant disadvantage when it comes to these streaming rankings.

Investigation Discovery’s docuseries Quiet on Set: The Dark Side of Kids TV has enraptured audiences since it launched, which is evidenced by the 1.25B minutes viewed that the four episodes racked up over the course of this interval.

In fact, it is now the most successful Max title ever reported in Nielsen’s Top 10 charts, beating The Last Of Us for that honor. The apocalyptic drama series peaked at 1.19B minutes viewed last year.

And, unsurprisingly, Bluey had another billion-minute week, this time attracting 1.047B minutes. This is the 13th consecutive week with 1B+ viewing minutes for Bluey.

The Top 5 was filled with billion-minute club members, and Netflix’s Homicide: New York rounded things out with 1.038B minutes viewed.

Elsewhere, Nielsen pointed to FX’s Shōgun, which managed 423M minutes viewed, up two places from the week prior. Apparently, it’s doing particularly well among the 35 to 49 crowd, which represents 30% of the show’s audience.

Meanwhile, several titles saw declines in viewership this interval, including Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour (Taylor’s Version), which was down 54% to just 310M minutes viewed. That was still good enough to take No. 7 among movies. Peacock’s Apples Never Fall also dropped 16% to take No. 6 among streaming originals with 399M minutes viewed.
