Quinta Brunson's Stylist Responds to 'Wrinkled' Emmys Dress Outrage: 'It's Crushed Satin!'
Brunson's stylist also shared that she thought the dress made for a "beautiful silhouette" on Brunson and that the color is "gorgeous on her"

Jessica Paster, who works as a stylist for the Abbott Elementary star, shared why Brunson’s dark pink Dior dress appeared to be creased in photos taken of the actress at the event after several people commented about it online.
One commenter wrote about the dress on Instagram, “I like the color, though not sure if it suits her but the creases! How was she allowed out?” Another wrote, "Love the shape, hate the wrinkles. I know it’s supposed to be wrinkled with intention but it just looks like it [wasn't] steamed enough. Like it needed to be all the way wrinkled if that makes sense."
Others joked about the dress not being ironed, including one who wrote, “Who forgot to iron this dress 😥 (I know this is how it's supposed to be but no, just- no)."
In response, Paster wrote, “guys guys guys… it’s crushed satin… I knew you were gonna say something!! It’s beautiful silhouette [sic] on her and fabric… and the color is gorgeous on her.”

"Thank you so much!,” Brunson said after receiving her award. “I love making Abbott Elementary so much and I am so happy to be able to live my dream and act out comedy, and I say it every time and I just love comedy so much that I am so happy to be able to get this.”
"I didn’t prepare anything because I just didn't think... I love my mom, my dad. My sisters, my brothers. My entire family so much. I love my husband. I'm so happy. I love my cast. Oh, I love Abbott Elementary," she continued. "Thank you so much."
Brunson plays Philadelphia school teacher Janine Teagues in the hit ABC series. She earned three Emmy nominations this year, including a comedy series nod for Abbott Elementary — which she created, writes and executive produces — and recognition in the outstanding guest actress in a comedy series category for hosting Saturday Night Live.

Quinta Brunson poses with her EmmyWhile the writer and producer seemed happy with her Emmys look overall, she previously revealed that she used to have difficulties finding the right dress for events. In a May 2023 story for InStyle, she discussed the challenges of finding the right stylist to carry out her vision on the red carpet.
"Not only am I 4-foot-11, [but] I'm 4-foot-11 with breasts and a butt," Brunson said. "And that's just the cardinal sin: to be short and have the nerve to have any type of curve."

"There were times where I would work with other stylists and have to be like, 'I'm not this young,' or, 'this feels too young for me.' And it would be like, 'No, you can pull it off,' " Brunson shared. "And I was like, 'But it's not about pulling it off. It's about what I want to represent when I come to certain award shows or certain events I have to do.' "
"I'm not just an actress, not just a writer, not just a producer, not just a showrunner," she added. "I want to make sure I can convey who I am through what I wear."
