Rail disruption after person hit by train

There are delays to rail services after a person was hit by a train at Leagrave Railway Station in Bedford.

All four train lines between Bedford and Luton have been closed and emergency services are responding.

Thameslink said it was "very sorry to advise that a person has been hit by a train on this part of the network", and it was working with Network Rail and the emergency services.

Disruption to the service is expected until about 12:00 BST.

The routes affected include the East Midlands Railway line between Bedford and London St Pancras International, and Thameslink services between Bedford and Brighton, and also Bedford and East Grinstead.

Bedfordshire Police said it was were supporting British Transport Police.
