On this week's episode of The Braid Up, we're giving you the ponytail of your dreams. Meet the five-strand braided ponytail. It's made up of three key parts: mini braids, a fishtail braid, and a five-strand braid (the main attraction, if you will). Our resident Braid Up guru, Stasha Harris, shows us how to create this look, below. And, yes, you're going to love it.

Ready to try out this look? Here's everything you need to know.

1. For those tiny braids on the side of your head, use a rat-tail comb to make sure your edges and parts are sharp and sleek. The fine teeth of the comb make it easy to part sections cleanly.

2. Laid edges are a major key to this look. You're going to need a long-lasting edge control that won’t flake. Try Pantene's Pro-V Gold Series Edge Tamer or Shine n Jam Magic Fingers for Braiders Edge Control Gel to keep your edges on point.

3. Get super-long braiding hair. Even if your hair is long already, trust-you're still going to need it. It's the key to creating a braided ponytail that's both long and full.

4. To keep your style smooth, layer on a coat of mousse before you go to sleep at night, making sure to wrap your style with a silk or satin scarf. Try SheaMoisture Strengthen & Restore Conditioning Design Foam or Vernon Francois Scalp Nourishment Braids and Locs Spray-they'll help keep the frizz and flyaways at bay.

And that's it! Be sure to check out the video before you make your hair appointment.
