Police in Regina say they've seized more than a dozen kilograms of cocaine, fentanyl and methamphetamine, with a value of more than $1 million.

Members of the Regina Police Service's drug unit and SWAT team seized the drugs and arrested three suspects early last Thursday afternoon, according to a Tuesday news release.

Two people were arrested in the 100 block of Froom Crescent, near the intersection of Ring Road and Victoria Avenue, where police say they found a large quantity of drugs.

They later executed other search warrants on the 500 block of University Park Drive, just southeast of the first search, where they found more drugs, according to the police service.

Between the searches, officers seized what is believed to be 2.35 kilograms of cocaine, seven kilograms of methamphetamine and 4.5 kilograms of fentanyl.

"Four and a half kilograms of fentanyl is significant, as extremely small quantities of this drug can be lethal," Regina police said in the release.

The estimated street value of the drugs seized is believed to be "well over" $1 million, according to police.

Officers also seized more than $34,000 in Canadian currency, the police service's news release said.

Three people — ages 23, 20 and 19 — each face multiple charges of possession for the purpose of trafficking. Each also faces a charge of possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime over $5,000.

All three made their first appearances on those charges in Saskatchewan provincial court last Friday.
