RFK Jr. considering New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers as his running mate

Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s Hail Mary campaign for president might get a shot in the arm from an unlikely source: New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers.

The conspiracy-theory loving Kennedy, who is running for president as an independent, has added the big-armed, vaccine-skeptical football star to his “short list” of possible running mates, Kennedy’s campaign said in a Tuesday email.

Kennedy, 70, said he is also considering fellow conspiracy theorist Jesse Ventura, ex-pro wrestler and former Minnesota governor, as a possible running mate choice, according to an unsigned email from his campaign’s communications team.

The New York Times previously reported that Kennedy was eyeing Rodgers. Kennedy has raised the issue with both Rodgers and Ventura, and both have welcomed the conversation, according to The Times.

Rodgers, 40, is slated to be the Jets starting quarterback next year after missing last season due to injury. It is unclear how Rodgers would balance running for vice president and suiting up for the Jets on Sundays.

He could not immediately be reached for comment. He has shown a flair for public life beyond the gridiron, serving as a fill-in host on “Jeopardy!”

The Jets did not immediately reply to requests for comment.
