Ricky Martin Makes Rare Appearance with Twins Valentino and Matteo, 15, at Premiere of “Palm Royale”
The singer is dad to four kids — twins Valentino and Matteo, 15, Lucia, 5, and Renn, 4
Ricky Martin made the red carpet a family affair!
On Thursday, the singer, 52, was joined by his twin sons Matteo and Valentino, 15, as the trio attended the world premiere of Palm Royale in Beverly Hills. All three wore matching black outfits, with Martin opting for a black shirt and his twin boys choosing black leather jackets.
The three posed side by side as they walked the carpet, posing for the camera as they stood next to one another. In one photo, Matteo gave a soft smile beside his dad.
Martin welcomed his twins via surrogate in 2008 as a single dad. After marrying then-husband Jwan Yosef in 2017, the couple welcomed daughter Lucia, 5, and son Renn, 4, via surrogate, just nine months apart.
Before having kids, the singer-songwriter had long shared his desire to grow his family, but the world hadn't made it easy for him.
"Many years I dreamt of being a father, and many, many, many times I went through this grieving process of 'I am gay, I am a closeted gay man, and I'm not going to be able to be a daddy," he once told Out magazine.
He's also been open about having more kids, saying he isn't opposed to the idea.
"There's moments where I want 10 more, and then there are those mornings where everybody's crying and I'm like, 'Okay, maybe we're fine at six [people in the family],' " Martin said in 2020.
This past July, Ricky and his husband shared that they were divorcing after six years of marriage. In a statement, the couple revealed that their children were their priority amidst the split.
"Our greatest desire now is to continue having a healthy family dynamic and a relationship centered on peace and friendship to continue the joint upbringing of our children," it read in part.
