A busy A-road has been closed following a crash, police have confirmed.

Officers have shut a section of the A46 at the junction with the A4135 near Tetbury in Gloucestershire, following the two-vehicle collision.

Emergency services were called shortly after 05:40 BST to the crash which happened near to the Babdown Airfield. The occupants of both vehicles are being assessed by paramedics, police said.

A Gloucestershire Police spokesperson added: "Closures have been put into place and motorists are asked to plan their route in advance and avoid the area."
