Roads and rails hit by bank holiday flash floods
A motorway was closed after flash flooding on Bank Holiday Monday.
National Highways said the M606 had been closed in both directions at junction three, the Staygate Roundabout, in Bradford.
Rail services were also affected, with the line between Bradford and Halifax blocked.
The Met Office had issued a weather warning for thunderstorms and heavy downpours.
Flooding began to affect the motorway at about 16:40 BST, according to traffic information provider Inrix.
It was closed in both directions with congestion back to junction two at the Euroway Trading Estate.
Northern reported its train services were being disrupted due to flooding in the Low Moor area.
It added Network Rail engineers were due on site to assess the extent of the flooding.
Disruption is expected until 20:00 BST.
The operator said its Blackpool North to York, Leeds to Manchester Victoria and Halifax to Hull services were all affected.
The Met Office had issued a yellow weather warning covering much of Northern England at 10:12 BST.
It warned "spray and sudden flooding could lead to difficult driving conditions and some road closures" as well as a "chance of delays and some cancellations to train and bus services."
The warning is in force until 21:00 BST.
