Robbery suspect in terrace roof standoff arrested
A man in his 20s who stood on the roof of a terraced house with a knife, forcing police to shut a road, has been arrested on suspicion of robbery and possession of an offensive weapon.
Police were called after reports a man with a knife had gone into Silver Road Post Office and Angel Road Stores in Norwich and demanded money between 16:00 and 18:00 BST on Sunday.
He left the post office - which is also a newsagent's - with £300 to £400 in cash.
An armed response vehicle, the fire and ambulance services and a police negotiator were called to the scene in Angel Road, with a road block in a place until 18:15 BST.
