Since finding fame as the no-nonsense Max Mayfield in Stranger Things, Sadie Sink's Titian red hair has become something of a signature for the 21-year old American actress.

As she steadily rises to become one of the most exciting young actors of her generation, Sink has also been experimenting with her red-carpet style, favouring show-stopping ensembles with a light-hearted twist by the likes of Alexander McQueen, Gucci and Prada.

And always amplifying Sink's fashion choices has been her ginger waterfall mane, which is often styled to bring attention to its glossy colour and long lengths. Sink's go-to hairstylist, Tommy Buckett, lead stylist at The Marie Robinson Salon in New York City, once shared with Harper's Bazaar US that Sink is fond of the ethereal aesthetic, hence why her hair and make-up always has a Renaissance painting feel to it with romantic tones and soft touches of colour.

But it seems the star of The Whale was ready for a bit of change for the summer as she's been spotted with a significantly shorter haircut. Croatia Airlines tweeted a photo of Sink on board the flight from Frankfurt with much shorter waves in layers, styled casually off her face for a chic, effortlessly cool effect. It was the actor's "first visit to the cockpit ever and she was absolutely delighted," read the tweet.

While fans speculated that Sink could have just tucked her hair into her jacket in the photo, Buckett confirmed the haircut on his Instagram, captioning a picture with #sadiesinknewhair. Working with Sink's naturally wavy texture, the bob – cut to reach the nape of her neck – has a rock n' roll feel to it that's fresh for the warmer weather, while face-framing pieces help enhance her facial structure. We'll be adding this look to our summer hair inspiration board, ASAP.
