"When Justin’s sister Alex brings Billie to his home seeking help, Justin realizes he must dust off his magical skills to mentor the wizard-in-training while also juggling his everyday responsibilities — and safeguarding the future of the Wizard World," the summary concludes.

Wizards Beyond Waverly Place comes 12 years after its predecessor concluded its four-season run on the Disney Channel. The popular series also had one TV movie, 2009's Wizards of Waverly Place: The Movie, and a TV special, 2012's The Wizards Return: Alex vs. Alex.

Before the new iteration was announced in January, Gomez was asked about which project of hers she'd like to remake or reboot, telling Extra in 2022: "Mine is Wizards, hands down, I would love that."
