Police in Toronto say a security guard at Drake's Toronto home was severely injured in a shooting carried out by several individuals in a car on Tuesday, May 7.

The alleged victim has been identified as a security guard working at the residence, according to Paul Krawczyk, an inspector with the Toronto Police Service who spoke at a press conference.

"He was standing outside of the gate in front of the residence when the shooting occurred," Krawczyk said at the briefing, which was live-streamed by CBC.

The guard was rushed to a hospital in serious condition, per police.

Krawczyk said video captured several individuals who “performed the shooting” in a vehicle but did not provide any further information on the vehicle or suspects.

Authorities could not confirm whether Drake was home at the time of the shooting but said they are in touch with Drake's team, who are cooperating with the investigation.
