Son of Hollywood Agent Now Charged in 'Gruesome' Deaths of Wife, in-Laws After Torso Found in Dumpster
Samuel Haskell is charged with three counts of murder, with a special circumstance of multiple murders

Samuel Haskell and Mei Li HaskellThe man suspected of murder after a torso was found in a dumpster has now been officially charged with three counts of murder in connection with the deaths of his wife and in-laws, the Los Angeles District Attorney’s Office says.
Mei Li Haskell, 37, and her parents, Gaoshan Li, 72, and Yanxiang Wang, 64, were last seen Nov. 6. They lived together with Mei's husband, Samuel Haskell, and the three children of Mei and Samuel.
Authorities allege that Samuel hired day laborers on Nov. 7 to dispose of four large trash bags. One of the laborers opened a bag that contained body parts, authorities claim.
The next day, the district attorney’s office says, Samuel was observed allegedly disposing of another trash bag that was later found to have a human torso in it. He was arrested the next day.
The Haskells' three children were found and are being cared for by relatives, police say.

Yanxiang Wang, left, and Gaoshan LiSamuel is being held without bond. In addition to the murder charges, prosecutors also allege a special circumstance of multiple murders. It is not immediately clear if he has retained an attorney. ABC 7 reports that his arraignment will be held Dec. 8.

“These shocking and gruesome crimes have sent shockwaves through our community. We stand with the victims’ loved ones during this unimaginably difficult time and will do everything in our power to ensure justice is served.,” District Attorney George Gascón said in a statement. “Our Major Crimes Division will work tirelessly to bring about a prosecution that reflects the severity of this devastating crime.”
CNN reports that Haskell is the son of producer and Hollywood agent Sam Haskell, who has represented stars like Whoopi Goldberg and Dolly Parton.
