How Utterly Cool Street Style Stars Are Pounding The Pavements In Copenhagen This Season
Copenhagen Fashion Week is a favourite amongst fashion enthusiasts for myriad reasons: its fervent commitment to sustainability for one, closely followed by the painfully stylish show-goers that populate the Danish capital during the season – and throughout the year, of course. Not to mention the copious number of skilled designers on the schedule.
This season is off to a riotous start courtesy of Nicklas Skovgaard who presented his second collection in the historic Helligaandshuet, which was filled with his signature ballon-hemmed skirts and tubular padded tops. AW24 sees Ganni partner with Copenhagen Fashion Week to bring an exhibition to the Nikolaj Art Gallery in a bid to amplify the craftsmanship of emerging creatives. The exhibition includes pieces from visionary knitwear designer and Woolmark Prize winner Amalie Røge Hove, founder of the eponymous label A. Roege Hove, the aforementioned quickly rising talent Skovgaard, Sarah Brunnhuber, Alectra Rothschild, Sisse Bjerre, Jens Ole Àrnason and Sahar Jamili.
Honorary mentions include Alectra Rothschild bringing a techno rave to the catwalk with a DJ at the centre of the space, and Saks Potts had renowned supermodel Stella Maxwell open their show filled with cow-hide separates and fringed boots, rehashing the very on-trend early Noughties Indie Sleaze era and Kate Moss' paramount Glastonbury style. On the cobbled streets of the capital, attendees from across the globe have been showing up equipped for the bitterly cold winds on form, with lashings of leopard print, whimsical accessories, OTT outerwear and ballet flats (still) leading the charge.
