Sunrise's Nat Barr red-faced over Sam Mac's X-rated remark: 'What!?'

Nat Barr has found herself caught up in an X-rated lost-in-translation moment live on air on Tuesday morning during a cross to weatherman Sam Mac.

The Sunrise co-host is normally unflappable but came unstuck when Sam stopped to chat with two young women while on location at Sydney's Balmoral beach.

The weatherman asked the women — who were tossing bean bags into a hole on a sloping wooden board — what game they were playing to which they replied, 'cornhole'.

At hearing the word, Nat gasped and exclaimed, "What!?" Perhaps she misheard — 'corn' does rhyme with the less than family-friendly word 'porn' after all.

'Cornhole' is also a slang term for an explicit sex act that is certainly not suitable for breakfast TV.

While Nat struggled to regain composure, one of the beachgoers attempted to explain the rules to cornhole, saying, "It's like little beanbags, and you try and under-arm it [into the hole]".

Attempting to contain his laughter, Sam turned his attention to Nat and fill-in host Michael Usher, declaring, "There you go, we've learned a new game for summer!"

"I think Cornhole is really going to catch on this summer," he added with a grin. "I can see it being exclusively on Seven. We're going to get the rights to the Cornhole world championships!"

Michael claimed that the game was 'an old WA thing' that was played in his home city of Perth, but fellow Perth local Nat wasn't buying it.

"Except the other person from WA has never heard of it," she exclaimed.
