Tahnee Sims pays tribute to Johnny Ruffo on his birthday: 'Forever missing you'

The Aussie star, who died from brain cancer late last year, would have turned 36.

Tahnee Sims has uploaded a tribute to her late partner Johnny Ruffo on what would have been his 36th birthday on March 8.

In the image, Johnny is seen posing with an ice cream, grinning happily at the camera.

"Happy birthday angel boy ✨🕊," Tahnee captioned the image. "Forever missing you and that cheeky grin."

Former X-Factor and Home and Away star Johnny tragically died on November 10 2023 after a lengthy battle with brain cancer. He was first diagnosed with the disease in 2017, before undergoing treatment, entering remission, and finding out the cancer had returned in 2020.

Tahnee's tribute to her late boyfriend was met with a flood of comments from his friends and fans wishing him a happy birthday.

"Sending hugs to you today and hope you are doing OK. Forever grateful that you and Johnny shared the journey," one person commented. "You are an incredibly brave, caring and loving person. I hope you have goals, hopes and dreams all waiting to be fulfilled."

"Thinking of you Tahnee on this day. I’m sure he would want you to celebrate his life and do all the things he absolutely loved," another said.

And some other fans empathised, going through their own personal experiences too.

"It’s my mum's birthday Monday after she passed in October from NET cancer, it’s gonna be so hard. She loved Johnny. Thinking of you," one person said. "United in grief."

Tahnee and Johnny dated for eight years after first meeting at a dance studio. In a Channel Seven Spotlight special, Johnny credited his girlfriend with saving his life in 2017.

He and Tahnee detailed how one night Tahnee was cooking dinner when Johnny started slurring his speech and mixing up his words. The pair ended up going straight to the hospital on Tahnee's insistence, with Johnny later slipping into a coma that night.

They then found out he had a brain tumour, and if they hadn't gone to hospital that night he could've died within weeks.
