Tasmanian cop's hilarious interview after epic crowd catch

A Tasmanian policeman has become the hero Australian cricket didn’t know it needed.

The officer was on duty at Bellerive Oval on Sunday during the third ODI between Australia and South Africa.

With Shaun Marsh dispatching the ball to all parts, the Tassie crowd wasn’t exactly showing any real catching ability, dropping about five crowd catches.

But when Marsh sent another six over the square leg boundary, this cop wasn’t about to shell another one.

The man in blue took a brilliant grab in front of three other officers, tumbling to the ground to make sue he held it.

But if the catch was brilliant, the only thing that was better was his interview straight after.

“I’ve seen a lot of catches dropped today and I thought, ‘I’m not dropping this one, whatever it takes,’ so I’ve gone down with the ball, torn my brand new pants but it’s worth it,” Officer Frank told Fox Sports.

“It had a fair bit on it and it wasn’t slowing down.

“It got me around there (high on the chest), got my hands around it.”

And just to top things off, he dedicated the catch to all his mates on the hill!
