Tatiana Maslany & Rossif Sutherland To Star In ‘Keeper’, The Next Film From ‘Longlegs’ Director Osgood Perkins; Neon Buys World & Will Launch Int’l Sales At Cannes

EXCLUSIVE: In a pre-emptive deal, Neon has acquired rights to Osgood Perkins’ (Longlegs) next genre movie Keeper, which will star Tatiana Maslany (Orphan Black) and Rossif Sutherland (Possessor).

Neon will distribute in the U.S. and handle international sales rights to the film in Cannes, with Elevation Pictures set to distribute in Canada. Perkins directs from a screenplay written by Nick Lepard. Chris Ferguson and Jesse Savath of Oddfellows will produce.

Keeper follows a couple as they escape for a romantic anniversary weekend at a secluded cabin. When Malcolm (Sutherland) suddenly returns to the city, Liz (Maslany) finds herself isolated and in the presence of an unspeakable evil that unveils the cabin’s horrifying secrets.

Executive producers include Tatiana Maslany; Marlaina Mah for Oddfellows; Noah Segal and Laurie May for Elevation Pictures; Brian Kavanaugh Jones; Fred Berger and Peter Micelli on behalf of Range Media Partners; John Hegeman and Vince Totino for Wayward Entertainment; and Bonner Bellew for Welcome Villain.

The deal was negotiated by Jason Wald for Neon with Range Media Partners, Wayward Entertainment and CAA Media Finance on behalf of the filmmakers.

Neon’s acquisition of the film extends its relationship with Perkins, Oddfellows, and Range Media Partners in advance of Perkins’ next film Longlegs starring Nicolas Cage and Maika Monroe, which Neon will release in U.S. theaters on July 12.

Maslany is best-known for Orphan Black, which won her an Emmy, She-Hulk: Attorney at Law and Woman in Gold. Sutherland is known for Possessor, Orphan: First Kill, and has Fox’s upcoming series Murder in a Small Town.

Perkins, the son of Anthony Perkins and Berry Berenson, began his career as an actor, with his first role as young Norman Bates in Psycho II. As a filmmaker, he has written and directed the horror films The Blackcoat’s Daughter and I Am the Pretty Thing that Lives in the House. Most recently, Perkins directed Gretel & Hansel from a screenplay by Rob Hayes.

Neon’s international sales slate, led by Kristen Figeroid, also includes Steven Soderbergh’s Presence, which made its world premiere in Sundance, and They Follow, the sequel to It Follows. At this year’s Cannes Film Festival, Neon will be premiering Anora In Competition.

Perkins is represented by CAA, Grandview, and Lichter, Grossman. Maslany is represented by The Characters, UTA, Alexander Artists Group, and Hansen, Jacobson. Sutherland is represented by The Characters and Manager Perry Zimel. Lepard is represented by Range Media Partners.
