Kelly Sipos shared a video from the show whcih has since been viewed more than half a million times.

The TikToker revealed that in scenes shot in the school's auditorium featured a number of dummies instead of real people.

She captioned the video, "THIS NEEDS TO BE SEEN. IM TERRIFIED. RYAN MURPHY EXPLAIN."

Fans of the show have commented on the video with one user writing, "That's actually so scary," with another adding, "What?!?! I’ve been lied to."

Someone else simply wrote, "Terrifying," another fan added, "I have never noticed that and I have watched the show like a hundred times."

One user explained that it was something the show often did, "Used to work on the show... yeah. We used hundreds of them instead of hiring more extras all the time especially toward the end of the show."

Another said that some of the stars had previously shared the secret on a podcast, "They explained it on the Showmance podcast that Kevin [McHale] and Jenna [Ushkowitz] do. They did it to cut costs."

One user referenced the bullying allegations facing Lea Michele, who allegedly treated extras very badly, "They were there to replace all the people who quit after having to deal with Lea Michele."

Someone else said that this is likely what TV shows will look like in the future due to "social distancing affecting production".

Another user wrote, "That show is cursed," something many people believe due to the show's dark history.

Cory Monteith who played Finn on the show died in July 2013 following an accidental drug overdose.

Mark Salling who starred the show as Puck plead guilty to possession of child pornography in 2017, he later took his own life in 2018.

A source, who was asked if the show is "cursed", told The New York Post that they thought the glee was overshadowed by gloom.

"I don’t know if I would say it was cursed, but it’s unfortunate for most of them," they said. “The things that have happened with some of the cast . . . it’s very sad.”

As mentioned, Lea Michele has recently been slammed for her on-set behaviour as well.

Recently Amber Riley, who played Mercedes on the show, referenced the accusations against Lea and revealed on an Instagram Live, "In my inbox there are a lot of Black actors and actresses telling me their stories and were letting me know they have dealt with the same things on set, being terrorised by the white girls that are the leads of the show."
