'The sports car of stand-up weeders': This lightweight gadget helps you groom your grass without bending down

It's the lawn-care equivalent of popping a pimple: Low effort and oh-so-satisfying.

Like mopping your floors or shredding a pile of junk mail, weeding your lawn isn't exactly fun. But once it's done, it can feel so satisfying. Whether you're striving for golf-course-level perfection or you just want to stop the crabgrass from taking over, weeding is key, but you can make a dreaded task easier. The Walensee Weed Puller is a top-selling manual weeder on Amazon, and you can use it while standing up — yep, no bending over or crouching down on your hands and knees — and it's only $30.

Remove weeds with three easy steps: Press, spin and pull.

More than 5,000 Amazon shoppers give the Walensee Weed Puller a five-star rating. One shopper even calls it "the sports car of stand-up weeders — quick, light and fun." Well, let's take it for a spin, shall we?

For starters, it weighs only 1 pound, so it really is light enough to easily maneuver around your yard. It has a 39-inch tall handle with three claw-like 2.75-inch steel teeth on the bottom. Simply place those teeth over the weeds you want to obliterate, step down on the foot pedal, turn the device 360°, then pull it back up to remove the offending plant. We suggest keeping a bucket or a bag nearby to discard the pulled weeds, but tossing them is just as easy as pulling them. Press the button on the top of the device to release the weed and move on to the next one.

Some TikTokers have posted videos using the Walensee Weed Puller, raving about ease of use. However, some have also mentioned that it leaves small holes in the ground. You can either use a little dirt to fill them in, or leave them — that's more air, water and nutrients for the grass that is supposed to be there.

"I have recommended this weeding tool to absolutely everyone! All you do is plunge it into the ground, twist a couple of times and pull up. Poof, the weed is gone," said one impressed Amazon shopper. "It does leave a rather large hole but it is aerating the lawn, too. Bonus! Seriously makes weeding almost fun and very easy. Works in the lawn and also rock beds."

"I'm impressed. I removed over 100 dandelions in just under two hours," said another. "Nothing to assemble, didn't read any instructions. Just push, twist and lift. The spring release pops the dandelion and root off in a flash. This was the most satisfying activity I've done around the house in quite some time."

If you have weeds that need pulling, you could hire a professional landscaper — or for $30, do it yourself in one afternoon with the Walensee Weed Puller. Hey, you may even enjoy the satisfaction of accomplishing a clean, green lawn on your own.

"I have a bad back and bending down to pull weeds is just not an option," one reviewer said. "I was very skeptical about this tool until I used it. ... It's so easy."
