Tom Holland Says He’s ‘Missing My Lady’ in Sweet Post About His Late Dog Tessa

Tom Holland is mourning the loss of a beloved family member.

On Sunday, April 21, the Spider-Man star, 27, shared a photo of his late dog Tessa on Instagram, writing in the caption, "Missing my lady ❤️."

The Marvel actor's post came after his dad Dominic Holland, 56, broke the sad news that the Staffordshire Bull Terrier had died in a series of Instagram posts earlier this month, linking to his Patreon page.

While sharing a link to his blog post on April 7, Dominic wrote that Tessa was "the only Holland who everyone loved all of the time," calling the pup "a remarkable little dog."

The family, who adopted Tessa in 2014, has planted a tree in her memory. "It made sense to plant Tessa's tree in our front garden for all the world to see, share and enjoy," Dominic wrote on Instagram.

Tom regularly included Tessa in his social media posts, with the pup featuring in a video that the actor posted last month about the Holland family's charity The Brothers Trust.

The Romeo & Juliet actor first revealed they had a new addition to the family in a post shared on Instagram on July 6, 2014. "I would like to introduce to everyone little Tess. The newest member of the family. #staffs," the Uncharted star captioned a cute photo of the pup.

In an interview with Time in 2017, Tom spoke about his love for Tessa after taking her as his date to an event while promoting Spider-Man: Homecoming.

"I love her, she is an angel. She's called Tessa, she's a blue staffy," he said at the time.

"Staffies are considered to be very dangerous dogs, which is not true, is not the case," Tom continued. "They are not aggressive. She is the sweetest, most angelic thing you'll ever meet."

"And yeah, I brought her along because I've always wanted to bring her to a press event," he said.

"She got super scared of the cameras at first and just ran away," the actor went on, adding: "But then she came back and had a really nice time. It was amazing."
