Gold Coast, Dragons table 'multi-million dollar deals' for Hayne

Parramatta is facing a tough task to re-sign former Eels champion Jarryd Hayne, with the Gold Coast Titans and St George Dragons reportedly tabling multi-million dollar offers to the code-hopping star.

Hayne, who walk away from his stint in the NFL earlier this year in a bid to make the Rio Olympics with Fiji's Rugby Sevens squad, has always maintained Parramatta is his club of choice.

The 28-year-old left the club at the end of 2014 in a bid to play in the NFL. He was recruited by the San Fransisco 49ers before unsuccessfully trialling for the Fiji side earlier this year.

The offer is good news for the struggling St George who failed to overturn big man Tyson Frizell's one-match ban for touching the referee at Tuesday's hearing.

It remains unclear exactly how large the Titans offer is, considering the NRL was forced to tip in $3.6 million in three months to save the Titans from collapse, a 2015 report reveals.

Hayne's signature is considered Parramatta's bright light at the end of a dark tunnel.

And given the club released Kieran Foran from his multi-million dollar contract just last week, and is now salary cap compliant, the Eels are expected to offer Hayne a handsome salary.

The 28-year-old, who is back in Sydney, was last week told he'd have to look outside Sydney if he wanted to convert to rugby union, with the Waratahs refusing to table an offer.

The Australian Rugby Union claimed it was Hayne who reached out to them, before the 'Tahs knocked back tabling a deal.
