New Zealand man dies after Perth pub brawl

A New Zealander has died from head injuries suffered after he was beaten outside a suburban Perth pub.

Diego Hulton, 37, was believed to have been going to the aid of his brother Jorveth who was in a fight outside the Brook Bar and Bistro in Ellenbrook, where the Danny Green and Anthony Mundine boxing bout was screened last Friday night.

Mr Hulton, originally from Rotorua, passed away at Royal Perth Hospital on Tuesday afternoon.

Midland Detectives say they are seeking witnesses to the incident that occurred on Main Street, Ellenbrook on Friday night.

Two men have been charged over the attack.

Balga man Salvtore Raimondi, 32, who was charged on the night of the incident with causing grievous bodily harm and assault occasioning bodily harm is due to face Midland Magistrates Court on February 21.

A second man, also aged 32, of Ballajura was charged with assault occasioning bodily harm and will face the same court on March 3.
