Travis Barker Shares Plane Ticket Saying He Has 'Angels' Watching Him 16 Years After Surviving Fatal Crash
The drummer recently flew to Australia for Blink-182's tour with wife Kourtney Kardashian
Travis Barker knows that somebody is looking out for him.
On his Instagram Story on Thursday, the musician, 48, shared a photo of his plane ticket from Sydney, Australia to Perth, which included a poignant message he’d seemingly written to himself.
“I know I got angels watching over me,” the ticket read, along with an outline of a cross.
The phrase is especially meaningful to Barker, as he survived a 2008 plane crash that killed four people, including his assistant and security guard, and left him with third-degree burns on more than half his body.
In September, he wrote on X that while he will fly now, it's still difficult.
"I still hate flying," he wrote. "I love touring and playing music but I unfortunately associate traveling and flying with death. I am strong and nothing can keep me from living life though 💪"
Barker and wife Kourtney Kardashian, 44, recently traveled Down Under with Barker’s band Blink-182. When Blink last toured Australia in 2013, Barker did not participate, as he was still dealing with the emotional aftermath of his 2008 crash.
“I still haven’t gotten over the horrific events that took place the last time I flew when my plane crashed and 4 people were killed, two being my best friends,” he wrote in a Facebook post at the time. “I gave the band my blessing to take another drummer if they still wanted to do the tour without me. I hope to come to Australia again some day perhaps by ship if need be.”
In the years since, Barker has overcome his fear, thanks in part to the support of Kardashian, whom he married in 2022 and welcomed son Rocky with in November. In 2021, he revealed that he’d recently flown for the first time in 13 years.
"I made a deal with her that she had just said to me, 'I would love to do so much traveling with you. I want to go to Italy with you. I want to go to Cabo with you. I want to go to Paris with you. I want to go to Bora Bora with you,'" he told NYLON in 2021. "And I said, 'Well, when the day comes you want to fly, I'm telling you I'll do it with you. I would do anything with you. And just give me 24 hours notice.' And that's what she did."

He told the outlet that flying was not on his radar before he started dating Kardashian, but that he was able to take the plunge thanks to her.
"It's still something very new to me, but having something that gives me the strength and hope to be able to overcome things that were so traumatic in my life, it just says a ton," he said. "She's definitely that for me. I'm invincible when I'm with her. It's just like I never dreamed, I never even considered flying again."
In July, Barker wrote on Threads that he’d taken his 30th plane ride since the crash.
“Wouldn’t be able to tour or enjoy life again the way I do without the healing love of my amazing wife. I love you @kourtneykardash 🙏🏼❤️” he wrote.
Barker and Kardashian brought their family along for their trip to Australia, which included stops at the National Gallery of Victoria art museum and the vegan café Smith and Deli.

On Thursday, the Poosh founder posted about the trip, including a shot of baby Rocky’s toes on an airplane.
“Feeling so grateful for every single second of time with my babies. Rare to get 2 full weeks of 24/7 time as they get older! Thank you Australia for the beautiful memories (minus the spiders).” she captioned the post
