Vancouver's Cambie Bridge to close overnight for movie shoot
The Cambie Street Bridge in Vancouver is set to close Thursday night into Friday morning to accommodate the filming of a "major motion picture," according to the city.
The bridge, a main thoroughfare connecting the downtown core with southern areas of the city, will be closed from 7 p.m. PT on April 18 to 6 a.m. on April 19.
In a release, the city says traffic will be closed in both directions on Cambie Street from 7th Avenue to Beatty Street.
"The city strongly supports Vancouver's thriving film and TV industry, which creates major economic and community benefits for local residents and businesses," it said.
As part of the production, the city says "residents may notice noise from drones and lights from cranes."
Transit buses will be rerouted and people are encouraged to use alternative routes.
The city did not say which movie was shooting scenes on the Cambie Street Bridge but online speculation has centred around Tron: Ares, which closed the bridge overnight last month.
