France's crop circle mystery
This crop circle appeared in France
drawing curious visitors from far and wide

(SOUNDBITE) (French) CROP CIRCLE ENTHUSIAST, GENEVIEVE PIQUET, SAYING:"I have traveled a number of kilometers to come and see this crop circle because I've heard about them for years and I've never seen them in real life, I really wanted there to be one in our region. At the moment, there hasn't been one closer. And I wanted to know what it felt like to be in the crop circle, in the part where the wheat is flattened. And I can feel a lot of energy in it where the wheat is flattened, stronger than in the surrounding fields. And I think there's something that humans aren't able to explain, we can't explain how they're made. I think there is maybe a higher intelligence which makes these crop circles."
It was spotted by a local farmer
who said it cost him swathes of wheat
due to be harvested
Its cause is a mystery
Some think it's other-worldly

"After looking up the Templar cross on the internet, I really think it's a Templar cross in the middle of the crop circle. And I think it's a message for all of the people who died in the wars. There are lots of people who died in the wars hereabouts."
