WATCH: Chris Hemsworth breaks his surfboard

He may be very accustomed to the surf and sand after shooting to fame on Home And Away, but even Chris Hemsworth is suscept to an embarrassing slip-up while out on the water.

A video has emerged of the the 33-year-old Australian actor breaking his surfboard!

Chris is seen hitting the surf with Channel Seven reporter Luke Munro on the Gold Coast, but it's not long before the crashing waves prove they've got one-up on Thor.

The father-of-three is then seen tagging behind Luke, holding up his own white surfboard split into two pieces.

Chris has been quite open about his love for the ocean, and says it is his passion for surfing that's even encouraged him to take up certain acting roles.

Back in 2015, the Hollywood hunk revealed his surfing influenced his decision to star in the film, In The Heart Of The Sea.

He played first officer Owen Chase in the flick set in the South Pacific in 1820.

"I was never a fisherman, but we surfed a lot, and there has always been that love for the ocean and that setting and part of the reason I got into acting was to feel like I was able to be transported to different times and different worlds and this was the 1800s which I certainly wasn’t around for," he said in an interview with news.com.au.
