Where you should get engaged, based on your star sign
For some people, the dream proposal probably involves a public place, live band and 2,000 red roses, while everyone they've ever known watches on. For others, the thought of any PDA going down outside the comfort of their own home makes their stomach churn. Which is why proposals can feel like such a minefield.
Thankfully, the experts at PsychicWorld.com asked over 3,00o people (3,178 to be exact) where their ideal proposal would take place, as well as their star signs. They then worked out how the majority of each star sign would like to be proposed to, based on the majority vote.
Aries – in the air!
Apparently, Aries would love an adrenaline fuelled proposal such as jumping out of a plane, doing bungee jumping, or in a hot air balloon, as they’re impulsive and don’t like to fit in with the crowd. Hopefully neither party has a fear of heights!
Taurus – at a family gathering
If you are going to propose to a Taurus, the best way to do it is at a family gathering. Thanks to their family orientated nature and their love of their, well, loved ones, share this experience with your nearest and dearest to make it the most memorable.
Gemini – on a private beach
While stereotypically Geminis love attention, the majorityof the Gemini women who took part in the survey insisted they actually wanted something more private. And what's more special than popping the question on a private beach?
Cancer – in a wooden cabin
Cancers love to love, and they crave romantic scenarios. Cancers from the study said their ideal proposal would be in a wooden cabin in the heart of a mountain, ideally surrounded by snow and Prosecco. Sounds like a scene from Wham's 'Last Christmas', but we're obviously here for it.
Leo – in a restaurant
Leos are fiery and they are not necessarily known for their modesty, which is why no romantic gesture is too big when it comes to their proposal. Most Leos in the survey said their ideal proposal destination is in fact a restaurant, surrounded by clapping people! Please just don't hide the ring in the fondue.
Virgo – at home
Virgos are some of the most hardworking signs of the zodiac, and they especially love to put a lot of work into making their interiors and home feel perfect. Which explains why most Virgo said they would love a proposal in the comfort of their own home - low key and surrounded by the abode you've made yourself.
Libra – in Paris
Libras are ruled by Venus, the planet of beauty, which might be why they love being in gorgeous places. With this in mind, it's no surprise the Libras surveyed said they'd love a proposal in the most romantic city in the world - Paris! We'll get the hot chocolates and crepes in.
Scorpio – on a city break
It's easy to feel intimidated by Scorpios, but there's no need to be if you get the proposal right. Apparently, the best way to make this zodiac sign feel comfortable is to show your commitment and love, through something as simple as a city break proposal. All that's left to do is decide which one.
Sagittarius – while scuba diving
Sagittarius are born adventurers. They love traveling and exploring new things and your proposal should reflect that. In fact, most Sagittarius women surveyed said they would love a quirky proposal, such as one underwater!
Capricorn – in a castle
Capricorns are quite traditional. They like following rules and conventions. They are also detailed orientated and natural perfectionists, so what’s more picture-perfect than proposing in a castle? Most Capricorns said that would make for a fairy tale proposal! Which creates high standards for the wedding..
Aquarius – in a garden
Aquarius people are attracted to picturesque and colourful places, and despite often hiding their emotions well, they are actually very romantic deep down. If you are looking to propose to an Aquarius, then the best place to do that is in a beautiful flower garden, where they can be surrounded by nature.
Pisces – on a boat
Perhaps as the name suggests, Pieces love being near water - whether that’s the ocean, a river or a lake. They would be in their element if you decide to take them on a romantic boat sail when getting down on one knee (just make sure the ring is in safe hands and the boat isn't rocking!)
