White House holds press briefing: Watch live
White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre is slated to hold the daily press briefing Wednesday afternoon under the shadow of college protests across the nation over the ongoing war in Gaza.
It comes as President Biden has continually come under fire for his handling of the war between Israel and Hamas militants, as well as the humanitarian crisis in the Gaza Strip. Secretary of State Antony Blinken said late Tuesday that “the time is now” for a cease-fire agreement in the Gaza war, and that it is up to Hamas to agree to Israel’s proposal and “compromise.”
The event is scheduled to begin at 12:45 p.m. EDT.
