Woman at the centre of King Frederik cheating rumours breaks silence

King Frederik's alleged 'mistress' Genoveva Casanova has broken her silence following his and his wife Queen Mary's coronation on Sunday.

The 47-year-old has kept off social media for the most part since the rumours first started.

Her last Instagram post was in dedication to the loss of a friend in November, but she has returned to social media to share a cause close to her heart.

Genoveva shared a video posted by Spanish singer and actor Miguel Bose about child slaves in Africa.

"40,000 slave children in Congo are forced to work in cobalt mines so we can drive electric cars," the original post reads.

What happened between Genoveva and Frederik?

Spanish publication Lecturas claimed last year that Frederik cheated on Mary with Mexican socialite Genoveva Casanova during a solo trip to Spain.

Frederik and Genoveva attended a Pablo Picasso exhibition together in Madrid, the publication also claims they went into her apartment building separately, both emerging two hours later before getting into the same car.

The pair left in the same car, with the then Crown Prince flying home to Denmark the following morning.

Genoveva released a statement that reads: "I categorically deny the statements that suggest a romantic relationship between Prince Frederick and me.

"Any statement of this type not only completely lacks the truth but also misrepresents the facts in a malicious manner.

"This is already in the hands of my lawyers, who will take care of the pertinent steps to protect my right to honour, truth and privacy."
